Anthem/Hartford Healthcare

As many of you may be aware, Anthem BC/BS and Hartford Healthcare failed to reach a contract agreement this past Saturday.
As of October 1, 2017 Hartford Healthcare is considered out-of-network.
This is a different co-pay than in-network. If you go to an HHC doctor, it is considered out-of-network.
“TRUE Emergency Conditions” can receive treatment at
any of their facilities and pay the in-network rate.
(ie: Chest pain, choking, seizures)
Affected hospitals include but are not limited to:
  • Hartford Hospital
  • Hospital of Central Connecticut ~ New Britain/Southington
  • Midstate Medical Center ~ Meriden
  • Backus Hospital ~ Norwich
  • Windham Hospital ~ Willimantic
  • Institute of Living ~ Hartford
More information will be passed along as it is received.
In the meantime, HHC has put up a website:  https://hartfordhealthcare.org/anthem
